WOOHOO, TO THE SEASIDE when it's hottest
This
exquisite place by the beautiful sea will bring a smile to the face of children
just soon as you exit the tunnel. That's when you hear the almost rehearsed
cry: “Look, it's the sea, woohoo!” Water fun, diving, sand sculptures, board
games on beaches, which are well maintained in Slovene Istria and adapted to
children, are the main reasons for a visit during the summer months, and will
undoubtedly result in a mosaic of lasting impressions. Visit the beaches in

FAMILY CYCLING on the Parenzana
Route – length 60km (30km single
direction)
Škofije–Koper–Izola–Portorož–Sečovlje
The famous 30-kilometre Parenzana trail leads from Škofije to
Sečovlje along a short but picturesque and diverse Slovene coastline.
The trail, also known as the Health
and friendship trail (Pot zdravja in prijateljstva),
vies along a once former narrow-gauge track between Trieste (Italy) and Poreč
(Croatia). The track was operational from 1902 to 1935.
The trail is intended for cycling as well as walking,
and is perfect for a family trip or an active holiday excursion. Of course, you
can only ride or walk part of the trail.

Visit duration: one hour to entire day
Suitable for children: toddlers in bike seat and independent cyclists capable
of riding at least 12 kilometres

FAMILY WALKS BY THE SEA – A promenade from Piran through Bernardin and to Portorož
The beneficent seaside climate
felt 365 days a year is characteristic for the promenade, winding along the sea
from Piran through Bernardin and all the way to Portorož. The pleasant walking
trail is suitable for parents with babies in prams as well as for more active
individuals (on roller-blades, bikes, skateboards etc.), or those who just want
to relax on a stroll along the seaside, or skip rocks on the calm surface of
the sea while admiring the sunset.

THE LARGEST INDOOR WATER PARK in Slovene Istria, 365 days a year
Sea water park Termaris in Portorož is the largest indoor pool complex with
heated seawater on the Slovene coast. A part of more than 1,000m2 of
pools of the St. Bernardin hotel complex is suited for the guests desiring a
break in a relaxed and peaceful ambiance, while the rest is intended for water
entertainment and activities. The Sea water park Termaris is located within the Histrion Hotel and is connected with
the beach through a terrace in summer.
In
winter, seawater in the pools is heated to 29–31°C, 34–36°C in whirlpools, and air
to 30°C.

AUQUARIUM – The Piran Aquarium encompasses an astonishing assortment of underwater flora and fauna of the Slovene sea. Are you curious what our sea looks like right now? Dive inside with an underwater camera from the Marine biology station Piran!
MAGICAL WORLD OF SHELLS – Dive into the depths of the sea and discover the different shapes and designs, which would make jealous just about every architect. You cannot even begin to imagine what lies on the seabed.
HORSE RIDING –Why not discover natural beauties from the back of a horse? Take the horse-riding trails across the green hills of Slovene Istria.
Mediadom Pyrhani culture centre and multimedia museum - The different paths leading to Piran meet at Mediadom Pyrhani, where visitors can take a time machine through 20 centuries of Piran's history, from ancient to modern times, through a multimedia presentations.
TONINA HOUSE – In the village of St Peter, a typical countryside house was professionally renovated.
It is made of stone which protects its inhabitants from summer heat and retains sunshine in the winter.
