Portorož - all in one place

Portorož is the largest seaside resort in Slovenia and well-known worldwide. Thanks to its natural position it has always been protected from strong winds, and thus has a strategic setting for port activities. It flourished during the Venetian republic and it has a special climate thanks to the natural bay and the protective hills that embrace it.

As a result, in the early 20^thcentury Portorož saw the development of various health centres and hotels. Today, Portorož is the town with the largest number of visitors on the Slovenian coast. It attracts national and international guests thanks to its mild climate and lush vegetation. Portorož has gambling, trading and fishing activities, it is also the home of the Secondary maritime school, the Faculty of maritime studies and transport and the Faculty of tourism studies.

Bernardin (Bernardin Resort) is a touristic destination in Portorož, where you can find a resort and convention centre with various hotels of different categories and prices. Bernardin Resort comprises excellent hotels, among which is also the flagship hotel of the company, the prestigious Grand hotel Bernardin. We mustn’t forget to mention Hotel Histrion. It is located next to the ancient church of St. Bernardin. It has comfortably furnished rooms with balconies with sea or lagoon view. Hotel guests have access to the indoor swimming pools in Sea water park Termaris, to Wellness Benedicta and on the hotel premises they can also find children’s playgrounds and a mini club. The hotel has 276 comfortable rooms with Wi-Fi connection. Among the rooms there are 6 suites, 7 family rooms and 2 rooms for the disabled. There’s also a conference room, a meeting room, an internet point and an area for children.

In Bernardin Resort you can also find Hotel Vile Park, which is part of Hotel Histrion and comprises 5 “villas”. It has a well-tended beach, an outdoor swimming pool and its guest can also enter the indoor swimming pools of Sea water park Termaris. On the hotel’s premises you can also find a playground for children and a mini club, and smaller pets are more than welcome. The hotel is made of 5 “villas” (vila Galeb, Vila Galeja, Vila Orada, Vila Nimfa and Vila Barka with apartments), the other villas have 216 rooms in total. The villas are connected by a pleasant shopping street with numerous bars and restaurants.

The apartments are perfect for families and are part of St. Bernardin Resort. The apartments are comfortable, equipped with air condition, a kitchen with a dining area and all of them have a balcony with views of the sea or of the outdoor swimming pool. The Wi-Fi connection is free. Next to the apartments you will find a well-tended beach, an outdoor swimming pool, a small marina, children’s playgrounds and a mini club. Vila Barka has a total of 21 apartments and is part of Hotel Vile Park.

Wellness Benedicta is a relaxing centre where we will take care of your health, beauty and wellbeing. The staff of the centre are highly qualified professionals that will help you choose the best treatments for your face and your body. The sole aim of the therapists, the body treatments and massages is to improve your general wellbeing and health. The centre works hand in hand with nature and its healing qualities, thus they kindly invite you to try body wraps with mud from the local saltpans. They are used for beauty and therapeutic treatments.

Wellness Benedicta also offers a steam room and a Finnish sauna. Moreover, there’s a sun terrace when you can relax in peace and quiet and enjoy the sea air. Aerodrom Portorož is the third international airport in Slovenia. It has a strategical position as it is geographically well placed in central Europe. Its position is actually unique, as it is situated in the heart of the Nature park Sečovlje saltpans and is only a few kilometres away from Portorož and Piran. Moreover, it has excellent road connections to central Slovenia and also to other regions.

During summer the airport is open from 8:30 till 20:00, during winter from 8:00 till 16:30.
