Walking paths of Piran

The Slovenian coast is fascinating 365 days of the year, also outside of the summer season, thanks to the beneficent Mediterranean climate, as it slowly unveils the charms of the sea and nature in autumn, winter and spring. Thus you shouldn’t miss the opportunity of a stroll along the sea during your holiday in Portorož and Piran in any season of the year.

We will present three circular walking paths that will take you along the sea and in the charming hinterland, where you can get to know the most beautiful parts of Portorož, Piran, Seča and Strunjan.

All three paths are circular and can be combined into one longer path

You can choose to walk along one of the paths, combine two or even all three, for a longer 28 km walk. The picturesque and well-tended paths give you the opportunity to explore Portorož, Piran Seča with the Sečovlje saltpans and also Strunjan with its nature park, the vineyards and olive tree grooves in the hinterland and the persimmon orchards that turn orange in autumn.

The paths are well marked

The paths are well tended, safe and regularly maintained, but most of all they are marked well. They are suitable for families with children and also active outdoor lovers. During your walks you will encounter nine informative panels and on the paths there are smaller direction signs that will keep you on the right way. There are also markings on the floor for easier orientation.

The starting point of all three paths is in Portorož, then the paths take you towards Piran, Strunjan or Seča. The length of the paths ranges from seven to twelve kilometres. Each path can be walked from start to finish in two to three hours.

A map of the walking paths is available in the tourist information centres in Portorož, Piran and Padna.

You can also download it here with the QR code.
