In 2014 the company Hoteli Bernardin joined the largest Slovenian environmental charity campaign “Old paper for new hope”, which was organized by the association Ecologists without borders in cooperation with the company Dinos. 

The aim of the campaign was to give every Slovenian citizen the opportunity to make a contribution towards a better world. The campaign “spurred” us to do a spring cleaning of old paper in the company. We collected a surprising 11.220 kg of paper in three weeks: 6.770 kg in Bernardin, 2.540 kg in Metropol and 1.910 kg in Salinera and San Simon. The collected funds were given to charity and to educational institutions. The campaign was very important as it helped protect the environment and raised awareness. As thanks for our contribution and participation, we received an award for being an ecologically and socially responsible company.
