From cyclists and runners to walkers and water sports fans, there is something for everyone. The advantages include sports courts in the vicinity of the complexes; the hotels offer customized packages for active guests; two certified bike-friendly hotels. Favorable climate, pleasant atmosphere, and the diverse countryside ensure ideal conditions for all forms of outdoor activities.

Trips in the area

Visit Istrian villages and the locals: olive oil producers in their oil mills, winemakers in their cellars and fruit growers on their farms. You can get a feel for the history of the place in ethnological village museums with typical Istrian architecture and by listening to the folk songs by Savrini musicians. All this can be combined in a wonderful trip that will forever remain in your memory and your heart.

You can take a trip up to the coastal towns of Koper, Izola or Piran. And if you wish to explore the wider area, to Venice, Trieste, Lipica, Ljubljana, Postojna, the Skocjan Caves and so on.

Boat trips

For sea adventure lovers, we recommend a trip with one of the boats on the Slovenian coast and lunch on the boat. A Piran fisherman can also take you on a trip and teach you to fish. In the Secovlje salt pans you can see how salt is produced in the traditional way. The visit can be extended with a visit to the nearby fish farm. It is no ordinary farm, but a real tourist attraction, where visitors learn many interesting things about life under the sea and our cuisine.

The extremely diverse and picturesque Slovenian coast can be enjoyed and experienced in different ways. A unique way of exploring this area is by taking the walking trails. Safe, easy and scenic walkways will take you through Piran, Portoroz, Lucija, Seca, Strunjan, Izola and the surrounding area. It is fascinating hot these towns look even more picturesque when observed from a different perspective, not from the usual paths we take on the way to the beach or to run some errands.

The Slovenian coast offers very interesting cycling tours along the sea and through the inland. Thanks to the mild climate, cycling is possible all year round. The climbs are just the right length for both experienced and less experienced cyclists, allowing them to enjoy the scenery. You can easily find natural and cultural attractions, monuments, scenic spots, farmhouses, accommodation and wine cellars along the routes.

Horseback riding

The Medljan Farm is only four kilometers away from Izola and Portorož and is the perfect place for horseback riding near and far in the Slovenian Istria. The Medljan barn has quite a few different horse breeds: nine Lipizzaners (five mares, including three broodmares and two foals, plus three castrates), four Arabs (two Shagya stallions and two mares), and Slovenian and Czech Warmbloods and some grade horses.

SUP trips

SUP is short for stand-up paddling (or stand-up paddle surf), where we stand and paddle, while observing and admiring the magnificent nature. You can rent a SUP–board and paddle–and spice up your day at sea. Take a friend, and you are sure to have a lot of fun. Stand-up paddling is a sport that is simple and available to everyone, just like cycling.  SUP courses and rental is offered by several clubs on the Slovenian coast.

In Laguna Bernardin you will find a modern and newly equipped diving center, boasting the PADI 5 Star Diving Center certificate. Within the diving center, a diving school operates, where you can take diving courses according to the standards of the world’s largest diving school–PADI.
